In this diverse and rewarding role, you will be integral in collaborating with managers and staff to provide reliable and efficient HR support. Your duties will range from addressing daily queries to overseeing employment relations (ER) issues and spearheading policy updates and development. Each day will offer something different. You will excel in this role if you are flexible, solutions-driven, and eager to engage in a wide array of HR activities.
Key Responsibilities
Be as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, offering prompt and practical HR support
Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture in line with our organisational values
Participate in HR projects and initiatives aimed at improving employee engagement and wellbeing
Coordinate and administer the performance appraisal and salary review processes
Provide support and advice on employment matters and the implementation of HR policies and procedures, including leave, remuneration, benefits, and performance management
You will bring substantial generalist HR experience, preferably in a construction environment or a complex operational environment, and a natural ability to foster trusted relationships. You will be confident in navigating New Zealand employment legislation and ER intricacies but are equally at ease in supporting day-to-day HR operations.
We’re looking for someone with:
A tertiary qualification in Human Resources Management, or related field
A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a generalist HR role
A strong understanding of employment legislation and HR best practices
A proactive and self-starting attitude with a commitment to continuous improvement
Excellent judgment, empathy, and a solutions-focused approach
Proven experience developing and maintaining strong relationships and personal credibility with multiple stakeholders
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
