This is a high-visibility, hybrid role that blends strategic category management, B2B consulting, and industry relationship building. You will own the business strategy for digital breaks for the brand, partnering with top vendors, marketplace platforms, and B2B partners to innovate and refine projects ongoing and new.
The ideal candidate is strategic, analytical, and commercially minded while also deeply embedded in the collectibles culture. You will move fluidly from negotiating vendor terms, to building seller partnerships, to providing strategic insights to leadership.
This position sits onsite 5 days a week in Grapevine, TX.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Category Growth
- Define and execute category strategy for Digital breaks across several categories. Pokémon, Baseball, Basketball, Football etc.
- Lead long-range planning, market opportunity analysis, and new initiative development.
- Translate insights from market data, consumer behavior, and competitive trends into actionable growth plans.
B2B Relationship Development
- Cultivate and manage high-value relationships with manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and top sellers.
- Create joint business plans that drive mutual growth and long-term partnerships.
- Represent the brand at trade shows, conventions, and key industry events.
Operational & Vendor Management
- Oversee purchasing functions including PO creation, inventory planning, and cost management.
- Ensure on-time product delivery, quality assurance, and compliance (e.g., CPSIA testing).
- Track vendor performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Sales & Market Development
- Identify and onboard new business partners and sellers in strategic categories.
- Support business development through targeted outreach, negotiation, and closing high-value deals.
- Provide 'voice of the customer' feedback to influence product and platform enhancements.
Analytics & Reporting
- Develop and present category performance reports to leadership.
- Monitor trust, satisfaction, and retention metrics for both buyers and sellers.
- Maintain accurate costing, forecasting, and SKU data for assigned categories.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 5–8+ years in category management, merchandising, B2B strategy, or full-cycle sales (collectibles/trading card experience strongly preferred).
- Proven track record in strategic planning, vendor negotiation, and business development.
- Strong analytical skills; advanced Excel/Google Sheets proficiency.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills with executive audiences.
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced, evolving industry with multiple priorities.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Industry experience in collectibles, trading cards, or hobby retail.
- SQL and data visualization tool experience.
- Established network in the TCG/sports collectibles industry.
