About the role

As a Compliance Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting our firm by assisting with the onboarding of new clients and matters across all our offices, including overseas. Your efforts will ensure that our compliance and risk management services are delivered efficiently and effectively, contributing to the success of our team and the growth of our business.

In this role, you will assist in processing new clients and matters, including conducting money laundering checks. You will perform conflict searches, clear basic conflicts; conduct business intelligence searches using various databases; verifying information, implementing information barriers, and handling enquiries from fee earners and secretaries will be part of your daily tasks. You will have the opportunity to collaborating with team members across the APAC region and the wider team in the UK to analyse and resolve new client/matter onboarding issues, participate in team meetings, assist with training, and undertake special projects will also be part of your responsibilities.

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone with previous compliance experience in a law firm or professional services organisation. Ideally, you are a graduate (LLB or JD preferred) or have experience working independently and within a team in a similar environment. Strong research, extraction, and compilation skills with excellent written and verbal communication are essential. 

You should have a professional, calm, and robust demeanour with good analytical skills. Being a self-starter who can work effectively with minimal supervision, committed to high standards and excellence with excellent attention to detail, and able to work independently and as part of a team are key qualities we seek. You should also be able to prioritise tasks, manage stakeholder relationships, and enjoy engaging with people and building relationships. Exhibiting behaviours consistent with our core values of 'approachable', 'bold', and 'connected' is important. Chinese language skills (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) and prior experience in using intake software/databases (e.g., IntApp, World-Check) are desirable but not essential.
