District Campus Safety Monitor

Position Title:  District Campus Safety Monitor

Division:  Leadership ServicesReports To:  Director of Safety and SecuritySalary Schedule:  HourlyWork Days:  244FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt
 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 • Maintain an ongoing review of the physical security of the assigned district building(s) and/or school locations.• Assist with the continuous monitoring of the district building(s).• Assist with supervising students during transitions in the hallways.• Alert the District’s Safety and Security Director of any safety and security concerns throughout the day.• Conduct facility security vulnerability assessments and make suggestions to the District’s Safety and Security Director.• Maintain continuous indoor and outdoor monitoring of the district property. • Monitor to ensure the exterior facility doors are secure during the business day.• Monitor hallways of district buildings to meet established expectations.• Attend and participate in required training workshops.• Maintain confidentiality of all district information concerning students, staff, and business.• Demonstrate positive working relationships with the building staff and community stakeholders.• Assist with managing parking and traffic on the district campus.• Assist with setting up and monitoring weapons detection systems at district building(s) and /or school locations.• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
 Qualifications:
 • Minimum of a High School Diploma or state-approved High School Equivalency (HSE), required.• Ability to work late nights and some weekends.• Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation. • Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.• Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.• Ability to be present at the physical worksite.• Must perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.• Must perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.• Must be able to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly during emergency situations.• Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks
