Research Associate I, Step 2

Purpose of the Position:

The Research Associate I will focus on the use of remote sensing and Geographic information technologies for mapping and monitoring in South/Southeast Asia countries.

Duties / Responsibilities
• Perform Big Data analysis through a cloud computing platform such as Earth Engine
• Perform advanced statistical analysis on satellite remote sensing datasets
• Perform Geographic Information System (GIS) analysis of spatial datasets

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Atmospheric, Earth Science, or a similar related field
• Minimum of 3-6 months of full-time verifiable work experience
• Must have strong programming skills, Java and Python in particular
• Experience with cloud computing
• Some travel may be required. Must be able to travel.

Desired Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of statistical software and manipulating databases
