About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Tax Senior to join our team. In this role, you will take ownership of complex tax returns, manage client relationships, support tax planning initiatives, and serve as a resource for junior staff. You will also participate in practice development efforts and play a key role in training and mentoring staff accountants.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and approve complex tax returns and governmental examinations.
- Take full responsibility for larger, more complex business returns.
- Delegate and oversee work of tax preparers and junior staff.
- Advise clients with advanced technical tax knowledge.
- Participate in client meetings and tax planning efforts alongside audit and accounting teams.
- Act as a resource for staff and A&A professionals on tax issues.
- Manage governmental tax examinations and represent clients before tax authorities when needed.
- Ensure smooth and timely flow of tax returns through the preparation system.
- Adhere to accurate and timely billing and collection practices.
- Contribute to business development through networking, referrals, and community involvement.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Coach, train, and develop Semi-Seniors and Staff Accountants.
- Identify training needs and support professional growth of tax staff.
- Participate in performance reviews and staff evaluations.
Requirements
Qualifications
- 2+ years of public accounting experience with demonstrated progression in tax complexity, scope, and research.
- Familiarity with U.S. domestic and international tax compliance for HNW individuals, pass-through entities, and corporations.
- At least 1 year of experience supervising or directing staff.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required).
- Master’s degree in Taxation (preferred).
- CPA license (or progress toward licensure) strongly preferred.
