Specialist Production Planner

Under minimal supervision, the Senior Demand & Supply Planner is responsible for analyzing, consolidating, and reporting demand and supply requirements to support long-range planning, capacity analysis, and inventory optimization. This role plays a critical part in ensuring product availability, efficient production utilization, and cross-functional alignment across operations, logistics, and product development teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and consolidate demand forecasts; report findings to management, stakeholders, and customers.
• Develop multiple planning scenarios to support long-range strategies and capacity assessments.
• Maintain strong communication with all demand sources to ensure alignment and responsiveness.
• Influence demand processes using planning expertise and cross-functional credibility.
• Create monthly planning models for all products using inventory control and process development techniques.
• Minimize variability and maximize production utilization through proactive planning.
• Expedite product releases to address inventory shortages via strategic business coordination.
• Represent PPIC on product and operations development teams to ensure manufacturability and production efficiency.
• Provide training and mentorship to intra- and inter-departmental staff on planning processes and decision-making.
• Educate stakeholders on PPIC’s role within broader logistics and business operations to foster continuous improvement.
• Track and analyze monthly performance metrics to improve forecast accuracy and output quality.
• Lead and support other planners to enhance departmental effectiveness.
• Participate in cross-functional teams and projects as directed by PPIC management.

Technical & Core Competencies

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Experience with spreadsheets, schedules, and planning tools.
• Effective communication and presentation abilities.
• Familiarity with planning systems and ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).

Requirements

Education & Experience Requirements

• Doctorate OR
• Masters + 2 years of directly related experience OR
• Bachelors + 4 years of directly related experience OR
• Associates + 8 years of directly related experience OR
• High school/GED + 10 years o directly related experience.
• Preferred fields: Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Material Management, or Business Administration.
