Job Function:

Reporting into the Production & Maintenance Superintendent, candidate will be based out of Quincy, IL and will be responsible for assisting with the overall operational responsibilities for the facility directing the workforce to meet the production and shipping plans safely and efficiently.

 Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate employees to maximize productivity and minimize operating costs.
  • Coach, counsel, train and develop employee skills.
  • Review work schedules and production schedules for optimum results.
  • Ensure that products are produced at an acceptable quality level.
  • Drive department compliance with established safety, training and ensure compliance with all company policies, plant rules and all regulatory agencies.
  •  Facilitates operations training and qualification process.
  • Maximize operational efficiency by ensuring that units run in optimal operating conditions to maximize product yields.
  • Participate in and lead LEAN manufacturing activities as needed.
  • Conduct routine safety and sanitation inspections to promote employee safety and good housekeeping.
  • Manages productivity and efficiencies using metrics and continuous improvement protocol.
  • Possesses and continuously develops knowledge of shop order and factory’s ability to produce.
  • Effectively communicates with associates, spending majority of time on production floor engaging with the employees acting as a mentor.
  • Ability to work nightshift, 6p-6a, rotating schedule including weekends and holidays
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
  • Occasionally climb ladders
  • PPE: Respirator, Long sleeves, long pants, steel toes, hard hat, safety glasses and ear plugs. Uniforms are provided at no cost, we have a boot allowance and all other PPE is furnished at no cost to the employee.

Required Experience

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Some Computer Skills
  • Conflict mitigation experience
  • Ability to lead with minimal supervision

Preferred Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification/Experience
  • Knowledge of ERP (IFS/SAP) systems, quality systems, OSHA & EPA regulations
  • Union Experience, preferred

Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this position is $73,027.0 – $97,369.00 annually. Final compensation will be based on experience and qualifications, in alignment with internal equity.
