Job Title: Senior Insurance Manager
Location: Onsite, Norfolk, Virginia
Job Summary: This position will work closely with the Risk Management team in managing the company’s property and casualty insurance programs, including renewing, and maintaining insurance and acting as primary day-to-day point of contact for all property and casualty insurance providers.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and manage insurance renewal process; analyze exposures to loss to prepare negotiation strategies.
• Review policies and recommend, negotiate, and secure policy language improvements to reduce exposures and apply coverage required by corporate and property entities.
• Evaluate exposures directly and through consultant/broker to recommend and secure appropriate limits on policies as portfolio, corporate activities and exposures change.
• Coordinate broker deliverables.
• Manage insurance policies, endorsements, certificates of insurance, policy audits and processing of applications.
• Manage Schedule of Values and Named Insureds.
• Evaluate insurance coverages for mezzanine loan properties, contractors/vendors, commercial tenants, as well as coordinate insurance placement on acquisition properties.
• Manage and maintain premium allocations and billings.
• Manage Renter’s Insurance program: coordinate with preferred provider, track/report site compliance, review/recommend site practices, and train on system input/use.
• Collaborate on risk management strategies internally and with insurance providers.
• Support the administration of the property casualty insurance program.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years property casualty insurance administration.
• Experience in property casualty real estate sector preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint.
• Strong organizational skills and excellent customer service skills.
• Strong verbal and written interpersonal & communications skills.
• Must be able to manage time efficiently and meet deadlines.
