Design, program, test, implement, and support material handling robotic systems. Applications include articulating arm and gantry robots, mobile robot shuttles, and ASRS. Target skill set by functional area is listed below
Programming: Write highly complex robot program from scratch. Program debug, lead troubleshooter, complex code enhancements and changes. Capable of programming in multiple languages. Develop new code innovations and enhancements, peer review and mentor other engineers
Electrical Design: Full system electrical design, troubleshooting expertise. Lead electrical scope for large projects.
Mechanical Design: AutoCAD and Solidworks expertise, full mechanical system design (robot cell)
Support: Provide 24x7 technical support for all types of existing robotic systems. Lead Accelerated Root Cause (ARC) and leverage findings across network of robotic equipment. Support Subject Matter Expert for two or more robotic technologies
Project Management: Portfolio manager for MFG Robot projects, Project Manager for multiple simultaneous large robotics project, accountable for project success (scope, schedule, cost). Write functional specification
Develop cost estimates and vendor request for Quotations (RFQ). Lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement programming and functionality enhancements to improve performance, leverage across network of robotic equipment
Innovation: Identify and successfully execute complex robotics innovation project
Talent Development: Mentor multiple people simultaneously including Robotics Engineering co-op, entry to mid-level Robotics Engineer, or Field Engineer
Lead teams for training and development
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future (e.g., OPT, CPT, H1B, EB-1,etc.)
- Must have Bachelor’s Degree or higher or eight (8) years of working experience in engineering
- Must have at least ten (10) years engineering experience in designing and/or implementing material handling robotics/automation
Preferred Qualification:
- Have a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering
- Have at least twelve (12) years engineering experience in designing and/or implementing material handling robotics/automation
- Have concurrently leads multiple significant projects design and execution; significant project defined as value of $1,000,000 or greater.
- Have experience with ARM robot configuration and programming
- Have experience with Rockwell PLC programming
- Have experience with conveyor system design and programming
- Have knowledge of industrial robot best engineering practices
- Have knowledge of ANSI/RIA Industrial Robot safety requirements
- Have experience in robotic or material handling simulation for throughput analysis and performance improvements
