Akamai Technologies, Inc. is hiring for the following role in Cambridge, MA (multiple openings): Site Reliability Engineer. Senior Principal Lead. Perform database administration including planning, installing, configuring, upgrading, and migrating existing databases; Responding to and resolving database related requests from other departments; Defining database requirements as part of the product lifecycle to influence the new designs and standards; Identifying data security related issues and help with improving overall security of the database environment; Providing support, leadership and motivation for project teams; Collaborating with support, operations and engineering teams to investigate and troubleshoot complex problems; and Participating in on-call rotations, guiding restoration and repair of service-impacting issues. Required Qualification:

Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Networking, or Telecommunications Engineering, plus six (6) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role. Must have: Five (5) years of experience with the following: Network optimization and troubleshooting; MySQL and SQL; Optimizing hardware and operating system configuration for Linux, Windows, and Solaris; MySQL NDB cluster configuration changes and troubleshooting; and MySQL enterprise backup.

Alternatively, employer will accept a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Networking, or Telecommunications Engineering, plus eight (8) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role. Must have: Five (5) years of experience with the following: Network optimization and troubleshooting; MySQL and SQL; Optimizing hardware and operating system configuration for Linux, Windows, and Solaris; MySQL NDB cluster configuration changes and troubleshooting; and MySQL enterprise backup.

Compensation:

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $174800 - 363200/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.

The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
