Job Summary:
Coordinates and oversees the training of new staff in the outpatient setting. Manages and develops training manuals with policies and procedures as a tool for clear and accurate training.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
- Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
- Medical Assistant (CMA) certification: Required
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or California Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Medical Assistant - NCCT (NCCT) or Certified Medical Assistant- NHA (CMA-NHA) or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Medical Assistant (MA) or American Medical Tech Board MA (MA-AMT) or Phlebotomy Tech (MA-AMT) or Certified Phlebotomy Technician II (MA-AMT): Required
Essential Functions:
- Trains new employees on process, computer and patient care skills in the outpatient setting. Provides detail training on all systems. Provides direction for workflow organization so that daily takes are completed within the expected time frame. Determines initial competency of new staff. Acts as a resource for staff for questions and assistance.
- Provides communication and clerical support to patients and clinical staff and performs specified patient care activities under the direction of the assigned clinical supervisor to facilitate the effective operation of outpatient clinics, and ensures that the clinic's financial viability is secured at the most basic level.
- Demonstrates patient centered/patient valued behaviors and handles potentially stressful situations and multiple tasks simultaneously. Solves problems within the guidelines of established policies and procedures.
- Disseminates information on all new regulatory procedures and ensure training on all new information. Provides regular in-services with staff to keep updated on new polices and procedures. Acts as a resource to staff for questions or assistance.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
