1.) Introduction to Journalism, Professor Erica Soto

Assist with demonstrating camera operation/shooting video and video editing vis-a-vis the Adobe Creative Suite. In addition, TA will be expected to produce social media content vis-a-vis the course content and assignments.

Requirements/Qualifications: Student must have taken Visual Journalism and received an A. 


2.) Investigative Journalism, Professor Allison Frisch

The teaching assistant would help with camera familiarity and use, editing software familiarity and use and podcasting, including recording, transcribing and editing.

Requirements/Qualifications: Student must have taken Investigative Journalism and received an A. 


3.) Visual Journalism, Professor James Rada

Visual Journalism is a hands-on production course that requires the students to use industry-quality ENG/EFP equipment. The TA will need to assist with demonstrating camera operation/shooting video and video editing vis-a-vis the Adobe Creative Suite. In addition, the TA will be expected to produce social media content vis-a-vis the course content and assignments.

Requirements/Qualifications: Student must have taken Visual Journalism and received an A. 


4.) Visual Journalism, Professor Allison Frisch

The TA will need to assist with demonstrating camera operation/shooting video and video editing using the Adobe Creative Suite. In addition, the TA will be expected to produce social media content around the course content and assignments.

Requirements/Qualifications: Student must have taken Visual Journalism and received an A. 


5.) Inclusive Journalism, Professor Erica Soto

Assist with demonstrating camera operation/shooting video and video editing vis-a-vis the Adobe Creative Suite. In addition, TA will be expected to produce social media content vis-a-vis the course content and assignments.

Requirements/Qualifications: Student must have taken Visual Journalism and received an A.

  • Pay Rate: $15.50 per hour
  • Hours: One and a half hours per week per course
  • Duration: Fall semester with possibility to continue for spring semester
  • Hiring Manager: Professor of each specific course
