The primary purpose of this position is to support interdisciplinary research advancing equitable access to healthcare and workforce technologies, including rural genetic counseling, AI-enabled service robotics, scalable medical imaging platforms, and inclusive teleoperation systems for construction, through coordination, data management, and technical development.
This is a grant-funded position and is contingent upon the continued funding of the grant.
Project Coordination and Research Support:
Coordinate interdisciplinary research activities across four projects, including scheduling meetings, maintaining timelines, documenting milestones, and supporting collaboration between investigators, clinicians, engineers, and community partners.
Data Collection, Management, and Compliance:
Oversee and assist with the collection, organization, and secure handling of data (e.g., genetic counseling access metrics, medical imaging datasets, robotic testing outcomes), ensuring all processes meet IRB, HIPAA, and institutional compliance standards.
Technical Development and Prototyping:
Assist with the design, implementation, and testing of robotic systems, AI/ML models, and digital health platforms, including hands-on work with hardware, software integration, and user-centered feedback loops.
Reporting, Documentation, and Dissemination:
Prepare internal reports, assist in drafting manuscripts, contribute to grant reports, and help develop presentation materials for conferences, sponsors, and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree- no experience necessary
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in interdisciplinary research with knowledge of AI, robotics, or health sciences, along with experience in coordinating complex projects. They should possess excellent organizational and communication skills, be familiar with data privacy standards such as HIPAA, and be capable of supporting technical development and user studies. The position requires adaptability, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams in healthcare, engineering, and community settings.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without need now or in the future for sponsorship for employment visa status.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include a PhD degree in biomedical engineering, computer science, public health, or a related field. Experience working in healthcare, AI/robotics development, or community-based research is highly desirable, particularly in roles involving project coordination, data management, or stakeholder engagement.
