The Senior Warranty Analyst is responsible for analyzing warranty and quality data to identify trends, issues, and areas for improvement. This role involves creating high-level management summary reports, developing and leading countermeasure plans, and driving initiatives to reduce warranty liabilities and product defects. The analyst will also build business cases to secure funding for transitioning the department from its current state to one that leverages AI and automation. Candidate must be self-driving and require minimal direction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Extract, compile, and analyze warranty, parts recovery, financial, and other relevant data; collaborate cross-functionally to support action plans based on PDCA methodology.
  • Manage and publish monthly reports on warranty performance by sales, product, and distribution channels; deliver executive summaries and detailed insights to highlight concern areas.
  • Evaluate complex datasets to generate actionable insights for forecasting, planning, and operational decision-making.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports as requested by Quality Assurance and Warranty management.
  • Design systems and processes to promptly identify claim anomalies and abnormal customer warranty trends; lead warranty cost-reduction activities.
  • Develop and manage department budgets and forecasts with 12-, 24-, and 36-month trend reports.
  • Establish performance targets and deliverables; create clear process documentation and flowcharts to support continued analysis and reporting by the Warranty team.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for warranty data; create and maintain warranty-related reports and dashboards across various software platforms.
  • Review and analyze warranty claims to ensure compliance with company policies; communicate with customers regarding claim settlements, continuous improvement (kaizen), and training opportunities.
  • Partner with peers and stakeholders to gather business requirements and identify opportunities for process improvement, system enhancements, and data optimization.
  • Develop comprehensive business cases to seek project funding.
  • Manage and maintain Python scripts for automation of key processes.
  • Support end-user training for new business solutions to ensure successful adoption.
  • Mentor Warranty Administrators and support cross-training initiatives to strengthen team capabilities and promote technology adoption.
  • Assist with special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Python or similar languages for automation and script maintenance
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Domo, or Tableau
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (including pivot tables, V-lookup, formulas, and charting)
  • VBA experience for maintaining and developing Excel macros
  • Familiarity with general warranty policies and procedures (preferred)
  • Project management experience
  • Process mapping and flowcharting skills (e.g., Visio, Lucid chart)
  • Basic understanding of automotive repair principles (preferred)
  • Experience with DOMO or Alteryx (a plus)
  • Strategic mindset for business process development and innovation
