POSITION TITLE: Dual Rate Poker Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Poker

REPORTS TO: Poker Supervisor, Assistant Poker Manager, Poker Supervisor--WSOP
SUPERVISES: Poker Dealer, Poker Brush, Poker-Sports Book Cashier, Poker Dealer--WSOP
JOB SUMMARY:
Supervise the Poker Room, tracks players when necessary and provides protection for games while providing friendly, helpful service to every guest and provide courteous and entertaining experience at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort.
JOB ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES--SUPERVISOR:
- Endorse the business objectives, ethics, and values of Caesars Entertainment in accordance with the Code of Commitment and Mission, Vision and Values
- Responsible for actively building and retaining customer relations and acts as a mentor to employees in order to provide superior customer service
- Create an atmosphere that induces guests to have Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort as their casino of choice; responsible for actively building and retaining customer relations and acts as a mentor to employees in order to provide superior customer service.
- Ensure superior customer service and handles customer relations issues that are beyond the authority of staff in order to resolve situations in an equitable manner to preserve Caesars standards of guest service
- Assist in the establishment and monitoring of department standards, guidelines, and objectives, and maintains other administrative processes, such as staffing, to ensure proper planning and efficient operation of the Poker room
- Open and close Poker games and monitors games in progress in order to maintain optimum operating efficiency while meeting customer needs
- Oversee games in progress to ensure game security, compliance with established department policies and guidelines, and adherence to gaming regulations
- Maintain various administrative duties, such as tracking head counts, generating various operating reports, forecasting business indicators and controlling the inventory of playing cards and promotional items
- Documented strong knowledge of department policies and procedures including those pertaining to Federal and Regulatory laws and guidelines
- Check for satisfaction and effectively resolve service breakdowns when they exist
- Responsible for, or actively participates in, the initiation of personnel actions including but not limited to interviews, training, candidate selection, terminations, performance reviews, promotions, transfers and disciplinary actions
- Act as a role model and coach while developing employees using a consistent, approachable demeanor and clearly articulating expectations
- Ensure that team members clearly understand and are held accountable for their performance expectations
- Exercise appropriate discretion in identifying situations that require management attention
- Provide game protection by keeping visual contact of all guests and game layout, and reporting any suspicious activity to the immediate supervisor
- Act as a role mode; always present oneself as a credit to Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort and encourage others to do the same
- Promote Caesars Rewards programs and card membership
- Create an atmosphere of luck and celebrates guest’s wins
- Provide a warm farewell and thanks guests for visiting
- Delight our guests with outstanding service
- Adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies/procedures in an ethical manner
JOB ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES—POKER DEALER:
- Deal Poker games in order to provide guests with courteous and accurate service and promotes an entertaining environment; maintain department standards of games productivity
- Provide gaming instructions to guests when requested or as assigned in order to encourage gaming activity
- Demonstrate superior customer service skills by displaying outlined service behaviors at all times
- Maintain an upbeat and positive attitude, create positive energy with gestures and sustain enthusiasm from one interaction to the next
- Initiate courteous and friendly conversations with guests
- Informed of daily information; build relationships by greeting guests with a warm, friendly verbal greeting
- Possess money-handling skills, count large sums of cash and exchange for table chips
- Possess a thorough working knowledge of all Poker games certified to deal
- Collect poker revenue from the pot in accordance with departmental raking procedures
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED required
- College degree from an accredited educational institution preferred
- One-year Poker dealer experience required
- Must demonstrate the following essential knowledge and skills:
- Thorough knowledge of all Poker games relating to their operations, rules, security of company funds, potential exposure of rule changes, staffing levels and training of table games personnel at all levels
- Excellent customer relations, leadership, and communication skills
- Documented ability to comply with regulatory issues and follow detailed procedures
- Documented teamwork behaviors and attitudes
- Extensive knowledge of casino rules, regulations, and Internal Control Procedures
- Strong interpersonal skills (including handling volatile situations)
- Proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel,
- PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to learn required interaction with CMS and Caesars Rewards systems
- Neat, professional appearance with excellent personal hygiene
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to operate in stressful situations
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds and carry 5 pounds
- Must stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to maneuver to all areas of casino
- Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items
- Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Must be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise and temperature levels, illumination, vibration, crowds, and air quality including second-hand smoke
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays
