We currently have a career opportunity for a Senior Solutions Presales Architect to join our Salesforce Team. This position will require some travel annually. 

 

Job Overview:

At Perficient, the Solution Architect Sales Engineer is a key technical role that supports all sales teams during initial engagements to understand customer strategy, outcomes, and goals, identify business processes, and develop solution roadmaps. The Sales Engineer also helps identify project scope and create resource models and cost estimates. 

A successful Sales Engineer at Perficient is a seasoned Salesforce Solution Architect and plays a critical role in the sales process, partnering with both Salesforce and non-Salesforce sellers to drive new business opportunities. This position focuses less on delivering product demos, though hands-on experience is essential, and more on strategic discovery, solution planning, proposal development, and resource estimation. Your expertise in the Salesforce platform, Core Clouds, Industry Clouds, and other enterprise technologies will be essential in shaping compelling proposals and guiding customers toward scalable solutions that drive business value.

 

Pre-Sales & Solutioning

  • Conduct discovery sessions with prospects to understand their business needs, pain points, and technical landscape.
  • Translate insights from discovery and business requirements into an engagement, with high-level solution architectures and aligning with Salesforce best practices.
  • Develop resource plans, project timelines, and effort estimations to support sales pursuits.
  • Collaborate with internal & external teams (Sales team, Delivery Leads, Salesforce reps & SEs, etc) to define engagement strategies.

Proposal & Sales Support

  • Create compelling solutions, rationale, diagrams, scope & assumptions, and supporting documentation for sales presentations.
  • Contribute to Statements of Work (SOWs), ensuring accurate scoping, deliverables, and engagement models.
  • Assist with RFP/RFI responses, leveraging existing content and material you create to provide strategic insights and technical solution guidance.
  • Partner with Perficient’s Salesforce and non-Salesforce Go To Market teams to position ourselves as the preferred, trusted consulting partner.

Collaboration & Enablement

  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them navigate Salesforce’s ecosystem.
  • Work closely with Perficient’s Salesforce sales and delivery teams and industry specialists to align with go-to-market strategies.
  • Stay current on Salesforce product updates, new features, and industry trends to continuously refine our sales strategy and win themes.

 

  • Experience: 3–5 years in a pre-sales, solutions engineering, or consulting role focused on delivering solutions related to Salesforce Core or Industry Cloud products.
  • Salesforce Expertise: Deep understanding of and hands-on experience delivering projects for Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Manufacturing Cloud, Health Cloud, and/or Financial Services Cloud.
  • Client Engagement: Exceptional customer-facing communication and presentation skills; confident leading discovery sessions and facilitating solution workshops.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including business users, technical teams, and senior leadership.
  • Tool Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, flowcharting and diagramming tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart), and mockup software.
  • Solution Design: Strong ability to gather business requirements and translate them into solution roadmaps, resource plans, and Statements of Work (SOWs).
  • Sales Enablement: Experience in proposal writing, creating sales presentations, and developing structured project timelines.
  • Multi-Cloud Architecture: Demonstrated proficiency as a multi-cloud Solution Architect, with knowledge of enterprise marketing automation, customer data platforms (CDPs), data integration strategies, and analytics.
  • AI Fluency: Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support data-informed task execution.
  • AI Knowledge: Familiarity with AI-enhanced platforms is a plus. A solid understanding of AI capabilities and limitations, including ethical considerations, is expected.
  • Travel: Willing and able to travel as needed to support client engagements and team collaboration.
  • Certifications: Must hold and maintain relevant Salesforce certifications, including:
    • Salesforce Administrator
    • Platform App Builder
    • One or more Consultant Certifications
    • One or more Accredited Professional Certifications
    • One or more Architect Certifications

 

The salary range for this position takes into consideration a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, level of experience, applicable office location, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The new hire salary range displays the minimum and maximum salary targets for this position across all US locations, and the range has not been adjusted for any specific state differentials. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and circumstances regarding each candidate. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $92,118 to $202,730. Please note that the salary range posted reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits or any potential equity or variable bonus programs.
