The Wealth Management Administrator II for PlainsCapital Bank is responsible for managing client relationships and the administration of complex trust, investment agency, retirement and custody accounts according to each account’s governing instrument and pursuant to the bank’s policies, procedures, and statutory requirements. Partners with other Wealth Management Team members to enhance and retain current client relationships and to acquire new clients. Maintains current knowledge on applicable regulations, statutes, and legal precedents.
- Acts as a relationship manager for client’s financial and planning needs by coordinating with internal operations, portfolio management, mineral management, bank lenders, accountants, attorneys, and other professionals.
- Performs administration on complex trust, investment agency, retirement and custody accounts according to the governing instrument and pursuant to the bank’s policies, procedures, and statutory requirements. Administration includes obtaining all documentation for pre-acceptance and account set up, initial and annual investment reviews, account maintenance, review of daily transactions, monitoring cash balances, consults with portfolio managers to establish client investment objectives, review of tax worksheets, account closings, and documents account files.
- Partners with wealth management team members to enhance and expand current client relationships and acquire prospective clients. Organizes client meetings including pre-call and post-call discussions with the team. Meets with clients based on their preferred timeframe, typically with at least one in-person meeting annually.
- Pursues business opportunities through community involvement and generates referrals from existing clients and external sources such as attorneys and CPA’s.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of regulations, statutes, and legal precedent
- Assumes responsibility for related duties as required and assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field OR combination of equivalent relevant work experience and high school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- 4 or more years of experience in wealth management or trust administration is required.
- Advanced degree and/or relevant industry certifications are an advantage but not required (i.e. JD, CPA, CFP, CTFA or other wealth related accreditation).
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of customers, clients, and Bank personnel.
- Excellent analytical, time management, organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment.
- Must be self-motivated with strong attention to detail, high level of accountability, and the ability to work independently – as well as thrive in a team based, collaborative environment.
- Strong computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office suite of products, and the ability to learn and utilize custom banking systems and applications.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of ethical standards and complete confidentiality at all times.
