Job Description

Are you a highly organised and detail oriented individual looking to support a dynamic communications team? 

This is an interesting and diverse post which supports the Directorate and Divisional business management function within Communications and Ministerial Support Directorate.

Reporting to the People and Business Manager, the role carries out a variety of work in support across a range of business management activities.

You will have the opportunity to develop experience and build knowledge of the SG corporate landscape, Oracle business management activities, activities which support the corporate centre, the role of the communications function and work to support the Directorate People offer.

This role also offers a unique opportunity to work with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
 

Responsibilities

  • Provide support on work activities such as allocation and monitoring of FOI cases, co-ordination and collation of information for regular commissions, preparation of news planning documents, management of news planning systems,  management of the media centre and support of Learning and Development offer.
  • Provide resilience support to the other A Band colleagues within the Business Management Team across a range of PA / administrative / finance duties / Oracle Buyer role, you will also assist colleagues across the Communications Division as required.
  • As lead IMSO for our function you will ensure that appropriate files and record systems are in place and are maintained in line with SG information security requirements and provide support across the directorate. 
  • Ensure that all tasks are carried out to a high standard, managed and handled in line with corporate targets.
  • Liaising with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
  • You will be supported to develop your knowledge and understanding of the business function within the wider corporate landscape, and you will be given the ongoing support that you need to develop your career path.

Working Pattern

Security Checks

Successful candidates must complete the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), before they can be appointed. BPSS is comprised of four main pre-employment checks – Identity, Right to work, Employment History and a Criminal Record check (unspent convictions).
