Diffusion Manufacturing Equipment Technician 2

Job Summary:

Onsemi is looking for a Manufacturing Equipment Technician that can perform preventative maintenance and participate in electrical/mechanical troubleshooting. This position will specialize on maintaining, Diffusion Furnaces and CVD Chambers and Akrion Wets Bences in a 1,000 class cleanroom. In this team-based environment, you will work closely with equipment, process, and production engineering teams to provide high quality products to our customers. The supported production equipment is critical for 24x7 manufacturing of semiconductor wafers, used in Automotive and Consumer applications throughout the world. 

 

Shift:  11:30pm-7:30am(third shift) – Monday to Friday

Responsibilities:

 

• Perform electrical, mechanical and software troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning equipment 

• Provide technical and hands-on service of supporting semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

• Respond to equipment alarms, failure, and process measurement violations.

• Use test and diagnostic equipment to identify root cause problems and put corrective actions in place.

• Provide detailed maintenance reports and pass downs to the team regarding daily issues and activities. 

• Complete and maintain required documentation for quality and safety standards.

• Commit to participating in and maintaining a safe work environment.

• Provide feedback on procedures in an independent and efficient manner.

• Perform equipment modifications as directed by engineers.

• Participate in Maintenance or cross-functional teams such as 5S+ and CIP.

• Work with outside vendors as required

• Demonstrate strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and show initiative to support multiple tool platforms in Diffusion, Wets, and CVD. 

•Complete basic preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on all Diffusion and CVD equipment,

with a mindset to continuously improve equipment availability.

Qualifications

 

• Minimum AAS in Electronics, Electro-Mechanical, Electrical Technology, or a Military Electronics degree

• Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude is required to succeed in this role. 

• Ability to define, initiate, and manage maintenance events that improve tool function and metrics. 

• Experience with Kokusai/BTI Apogee and TEL Alpha8 furnaces, Novellus C1/C2 PECVD, Akrion Wets Benches and/or AMAT Centura SACVD is preferred, but not required. 

• Use hand tools including wrenches, calipers, voltage/current meters, oscilloscopes, and other various equipment technology specific tooling

• A strong understanding and working knowledge of the following systems is beneficial: pneumatic/hydraulic pump systems, multi axis servo systems, optical components, chillers & cooling systems.

• Familiarity with Robotic / Automated handling systems & vacuum systems

• Must be able to work with various hazardous gases and chemicals.  Must be able to wear full face airline respirator.

• Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl up to 1/3 of the time.  Must be able to lift 50 pounds. 

• Must be able to work in both an office and anti-static clean room environment. 

• Strong communicator, who can effectively work with a team of manufacturing operators, process engineers, as well as other technicians.

• Fluency in English Language – written & verbal
