PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco is seeking an experienced driver to join our team and ensure the safe transportation of students from their schools to our after school program and to other Club-sponsored activities. The van schedule runs Monday through Friday from 1:30 PM to 6:30 PM. BGCSF prides itself on creating a positive and inclusive environment for both our staff and the children they transport. KEY ROLES (ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES):
- Transport youth members in Club vehicles as needed
- Be responsible for picking up students from 1-2 stops per route, completing 3-4 routes each afternoon
- Adherence to the scheduled van route and pick up and drop off times
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of all youth during transport and assist youth boarding and disembarking the van as needed
- Conduct safety inspections of van prior to and after operations including maintaining fluid levels, tire pressure, fuel and washing
- Maintains scheduling and passenger records
- Have a positive attitude and a passion for working with youth
- Be flexible and willing to support in a Clubhouse during down time.
- Communicate effectively with students and staff
- Report any incidents or issues to the Vice President of Club Services within 24 hours of occurrence
Requirements
SKILLS/ KNOWLEDGE PREFERRED:
- Possession of a valid California Class B driver’s license with passenger endorsement
and a clean driving record. DMV driving record must not have more than one (1) point for either a moving violation or accident
- Possess a high school diploma and have a minimum of two years of experience driving buses/vans. Prior experience in driving or working with after school programs, summer camps, or childcare facilities is preferred
- Demonstrate impeccable safety awareness and judgment
- Ability to create strong relationships and boundaries with youth in a short period of time
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to understand and follow systems and procedures
- Current Red Cross First Aid/CPR certification (within 90 days of employment)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to lift 15 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for at least 1 hour

Pay
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and BGCSF needs. At BGCSF, our decisions are based on other factors and dependent on circumstances for each position. Depending on the need and requirement of the position, an individual could be hired at or near the entry-level, mid-level or top-of-the-range for their role and compensation. As such, a reasonable estimate of the current range is $24 to $27.
