Job Title: Senior HRIS & People Data Analyst
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior HRIS & People Analytics Analyst to join our team. This role is a hybrid of systems ownership, data analytics, AI innovation, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Power BI, Workday/Paylocity/ADP Workforce Now, and HRIS implementations, along with a strong background in automation, API integration, and AI tools for HR optimization.
You will serve as a bridge between HR and IT, owning core HCM functions, managing data integrity, creating dashboards, automating workflows, and translating complex data into actionable insights to support strategic business and HR decisions.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Extract, transform, and analyze data to identify trends and opportunities.
- Develop, maintain, and automate HR dashboards and reports using Power BI and other visualization tools.
- Apply effective dashboard design and data storytelling principles to optimize user experience.
- Understand and identify opportunities to for building scalable ETL processes and reporting systems that consolidate data from multiple sources. Enhance current reporting deliverables while exploring innovative analytics solutions.
- Lead the design and implementation of data models to support strategic HR initiatives.
- Provide recommendations based on data insights and trend analysis.
- Lead administration and optimization of the Paylocity HCM platform.
- Manage employee processes, job profiles, and job descriptions.
- Ensure data integrity through audits and ongoing maintenance.
- Lead or support HRIS implementations and enhancements across the HR tech stack (Paylocity, Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint, ServiceNow, Tiny Pulse, ERI).
- Act as the SME for system compliance (e.g., SOC2 controls), testing, and troubleshooting.
- Implement and maintain AI tools to enhance HR processes such as onboarding, performance management, and employee self-service. Recognize opportunities to set up and utilize chatbots (e.g., Microsoft Copilot Studio) for HR support and knowledge management.
- Work towards gaining buy in for implementation of all new tools.
- Proactively identify and apply predictive people analytics tools to support strategic HR decisions.
- Stay current on best practices in AI-driven HR technology to enhance hr processes.
- Recognize opportunities to design and manage workflow automation using Power Automate and SFTP connections.
- Be the main POC when there is a need to develop, test, and troubleshoot APIs to ensure seamless integration between HR systems.
- Automate repetitive reporting tasks to reduce manual effort and increase operational efficiency.
- Partner with cross-functional teams across HR and IT to deliver data-driven HR solutions.
- Provide analytics support and identify the need for enhancements to HR systems and communicate to leadership.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or related.
- 5+ years of experience in HRIS, HR Analytics, or data analysis roles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Thorough understanding of technology, technical roles, and technical skills.
- Expert proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, data modeling, and dashboard design.
- Deep experience with Paylocity or similar HRIS (Custom Reporting).
- Strong understanding of HRIS HCM modules and data structures.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, matrix statements, and complex formulas.
- Previous exposure to complex time and attendance systems.
- Proficient understanding of ETL, API integration, and report automation.
- Knowledge of HR process automation and data management best practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Capacity to manage change, handle ambiguity, and maintain a positive work environment in dynamic settings.
- Strong organizational skills to balance multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and ensure team efficiency.
- Ability to be process driven, detailed oriented and highly organized.
- Ability to work across departments and build strong working relationships with employees at all levels.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple, changing priorities. Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
PREFERED
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
- Experience with Paylocity and other HR-related systems.
- Familiarity with Paylocity People Analytics.
- Functional understanding of big data and machine learning.
- Hands-on experience with Power Automate, SharePoint, and SFTP
- Background in system implementation projects in dynamic business environments.
