The Mechanical Assembler II at Aqua-Chem requires an advanced level of mechanical aptitude, use of various machinery, hand tools, and power tools, to assist the manufacturing process of large-scale custom-built water purification and filtration systems, especially during final assembly.
Schedule: (1st Shift) Monday - Thursday, 6:00am - 4:30pm (OT may be required on Friday's 6:00am - 2:30pm)
Location: Onsite; Knoxville, TN
Pay Range: $22.00 - $26.00/hr, Dependent on Experience

Essential Duties:
- Perform duties such as bending metal tubing with the use of rolling and bending machines.
- Ability to run a cold and cutoff saw.
- Perform hands-on mechanical assembly using hand and power tools as part of a larger assembly production to build high-quality systems.
- Fit, install, and secure piping, valves, pumps, motors, and other components in accordance with mechanical drawings and P&ID schematics.
- Perform minor welding tasks as needed; orbital and TIG welding capabilities are a plus but not required.
- Ensure the assembled systems meet internal quality standards and customer specifications.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, BOMs, layout sketches, and schematics accurately.
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues, communicating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment following safety, 5S, and quality guidelines.
- Accurately complete job documentation and time tracking using systems such as the company HRIS and/or ERP systems.
- Assist in preparation of systems for final inspection and FAT.
- Support process improvements and participate in team problem-solving efforts.
- Other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma/GED required
- 2–3 years of mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Proficiency in reading mechanical drawings and interpreting technical documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive, team-first attitude.
- Experience with job tracking, documentation, and process compliance.

- Basic welding skills (orbital and/or TIG) are a plus, but not mandatory.
