We are looking for a Human Resources Assistant to join our team! This is a great opportunity for someone seeking to start their career in Human Resources.
In this role, you will:
- Coordinate and facilitate a smooth onboarding experience, including conducting new hire orientations, assisting with required documentation, and addressing employee questions.
- Help ensure our new hires get off to a great start by conducting a positive new hire orientation and providing assistance with paperwork and questions.
- Maintain and update accurate employee records in Workday, including job changes, personal data updates, new employee records, and terminations.
- Assist with offboarding tasks, including termination checklists, document handling, and updating records to ensure a complete and compliant employee exit process.
- Preparation for new hires by preparing paperwork, completing checklists, updating employee files, and ensuring required training is up to date.
- Assist with the restructuring of employee records management system, including the transition from physical to digital files, to enhance organization and accessibility.
- Support pre-employment processes such as conducting background checks, verify employment eligibility (e.g., I-9’s, E-Verify), and compliance with document requirements.
- Assist with benefits enrollment data entry as needed.
- Partner with the HR team to support compliance with labor laws, through accurate recordkeeping and support during audits.
- Assist in the preparation of HR reports on key metrics such as onboarding progress, terminations, and compensation.
- Provide front desk coverage to the receptionist as needed, maintaining professionalism in handling employee and guest inquiries.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in Human Resources[BG1] or an equivalent of 5+ years of administrative support experience.
- Proven ability to multi-task and effectively resolve problems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A customer-focused attitude with a high level of professionalism and discretion.
- Intermediate experience with MS Office applications including Excel, Word, Power Point.
- Ability to work onsite in our Sorrento Valley office.
- Experience with Workday highly preferred.
