About the role


The Senior Director of Investor Relations (IR) will be a key member of the executive team, responsible for developing and executing a best-in-class investor relations strategy. This leader will serve as the primary interface between D-Wave and the investment community, including investment banks, institutional investors, analysts and shareholders. The ideal candidate will possess deep capital markets experience, exceptional communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical and financial information into compelling narratives. 


What you'll do


Strategic Communication & Investor Engagement 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the investment community, including investment banks, institutional investors, analysts and proxy advisors. 
  • Craft and deliver compelling narratives that communicate the company’s vision, strategy and financial performance in a way that resonates with both financial and technical audiences. 
  • Lead the planning, coordination and execution of investor conferences and non-deal roadshows, ensuring leadership is prepared for one-on-one as well as group meetings, including briefing materials and Q&A prep. 
  • Maintain ongoing communication with sell-side and buy-side security analysts, proactively following up after earnings releases, investor events and significant announcements to clarify company’s performance and strategy. 
  • Own the creation, enhancement and regular updates of investor presentation content, earnings call scripts, press releases and FAQs, ensuring messaging is accurate, engaging and consistent with company strategy and disclosures. 
  • Represent the company in investor meetings, conferences, non-deal roadshows and earnings calls. 
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key investors and analysts while expanding the shareholder base through proactive outreach. 
  • Monitor investor sentiment and feedback to inform messaging and positioning. 

 

Financial Disclosure & Market Intelligence 

  • Lead the quarterly earnings process, including cross-functional coordination, disclosure preparation and call execution. 
  • Provide insights to executive leadership and the Board on peer performance, industry trends, investor behavior and market dynamics. 
  • Track and analyze changes in shareholder composition, analyst coverage and investor perceptions. 
  • Collaborate with Legal and Finance to ensure transparency, accuracy and consistency across all investor communications and public filings. 

 

Internal Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Partner with the CEO, CFO and senior leadership to align investor messaging with strategic objectives and corporate developments. 
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the executive team on capital markets trends, investor expectations and communications best practices. 
  • Work cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, Communications and Technical teams to gather insights and align on investor storytelling. 
  • Drive the planning and execution of investor days and internal trainings related to financial messaging and market engagement. 

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business or a related field; MBA or CFA designation preferred. 
  • 10+ years of experience in investor relations, equity research, investment banking or corporate finance, with a strong preference for experience in a publicly traded company. 
  • Extensive knowledge to assess, implement and operate/manager various investor relations tools including but not limited to Factset, Okapi, Irwin and TipRanks. 
  • Prior experience in the technology sector is required; exposure to deep tech, semiconductors or quantum computing is a strong plus. 
  • Track record of leading investor engagement strategies and managing relationships with institutional investors and analysts. 
  • Experience supporting or leading quarterly earnings cycles, including scripting, financial disclosures and Q&A preparation. 
  • Deep understanding of capital markets, financial modeling, valuation methodologies and public company reporting requirements. 
  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical and financial content for diverse audiences. 
  • Executive presence and the ability to engage credibly with C-level executives, Board members and external stakeholders. 
  • Proven ability to craft compelling narratives that connect business strategy with investor value. 
  • High level of integrity, discretion and professionalism in handling confidential and market-sensitive information.
