Are you a strategic sourcing professional ready to help shape a globally integrated supply chain? Due to growth, Convergix has an immediate opening for a Commodity Manager to join our expanding Procurement and Supply Chain team.
The Commodity Manager will lead and develop strategic commodity strategies, drive supplier performance, and partner across quoting, engineering, project management, and operations to deliver best-in-class value and performance from our supply base.
This role offers the flexibility to work near a Convergix facility or remotely within the USA. Occasional travel is expected to supplier and other Convergix locations.
What would a typical day be like?
- Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships to ensure consistent delivery, quality, and innovation.
- Lead cross-functional sourcing initiatives and commodity strategy execution.
- Own and optimize the Preferred Supplier List, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Proactively resolve escalated supplier issues and performance gaps.
- Partner with quoting, engineering, and project management to drive cost-effective solutions.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks using structured risk management frameworks.
- Negotiate and manage supplier contracts with a focus on total cost of ownership and value creation.
- Lead supplier performance reviews and develop improvement plans.
- Implement continuous improvement and lean initiatives across sourcing processes.
- Collaborate with global teams to leverage best practices and achieve economies of scale.
- Monitor market trends, commodity pricing, and economic indicators to adjust strategies proactively.
- Support new supplier development, onboarding, and qualification processes.
What qualifies you for this opportunity?
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain management roles, preferably in a manufacturing or automation environment.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing commodity strategies in a global environment.
- Ability to understand terms and conditions and be able to negotiate contracts.
- Ability to build relationships while challenging and proactively driving improvements.
- Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams and influence at all levels of the organization.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; ERP experience preferred (e.g., SAP, Epicor).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage across geographic regions.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to travel domestically and internationally (estimated 20–30%).

- Specific vision abilities required for the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
