Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Supply Chain/Inventory Manager on the third shift at our Toronto manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for the safe, accurate and timely fulfillment of customer orders while adhering to Company’s guiding principles and value of order.
Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. As the successful candidate, you will manage all bun warehouse assets to generate a profit.
Your additional responsibilities as Supply Chain/Inventory Manager will include:
- Responsible for the completion of all activities in the assigned area of responsibility.
- Coordinate with other departments such as production, procurement and sales to streamline inventory operations.
- Analyze order patterns and replenish stock when required.
- Collaborate with senior management to ensure timely achievement of the goals set for each year.
- Maintain the required inventory levels and trim reduction standards.
- Monitor and maintain all slab and block inventory in the plant including, departmental and old foam daily to ensure division is maintaining target below corporate standard.
- Approve daily production schedules and plan future production requirements.
- Ensure weekly pour schedule is created and forwarded to the Pouring department by the end of each week.
- Communicate with pouring management the necessary priorities of the schedule.
- Ensure the adherence to the daily agenda, monitor and adjust as required.
- Coordinates the purchase of major raw materials, monitors ODP Section, staging, allocation, to internal/external customers.
- Review all daily block sales orders for availability, sign off and forward to CSR for processing
- Conduct daily calls with block customers, follow up on delivery, backorders, supply issues, order concerns.
- Assist in cycle counts, and quarterly, semi-annual, annual inventory counts and adjustments.
- Review block/slab SKU’s – maintaining based on demand
- Create daily cold chopping schedule for all shifts, update spreadsheets as required.
- Use Kaizen continuous improvement methods to achieve goals.
- Promote and maintain the value of order philosophy and activities.
- Maintain applied knowledge of company's H&S management system.
- Maintain applied knowledge of company's Quality management system.
- Maintain applied knowledge of relevant SAP transactions.Skills and Requirements
- The ability to analyze inventory data, identify trends and make informed decisions about stock levels and forecasting
- Ability to understand supply chain from procurement and production to distribution
- A strong working knowledge of safety regulations related to manufacturing business.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work with a team and independently in a time-sensitive environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- SAP experience is an asset.
