Use your strengths at Wellmark as a Sr Business Support Consultant for Health Services!
About the opportunity: As a Sr Business Support Consultant, you will provide subject matter expertise and consulting for Health Services processes, systems, data, applications, and integrations. You will do this by serving as a persistent member on the Health Services system integration product team and through collaboration with other stakeholders in a highly matrixed environment. While working in systems, such as Jiva, you will serve as an owner and facilitator of a comprehensive user acceptance test library to ensure proper validation and regression of core care management system changes impacting Health Services. You will provide analysis and execution of system configuration in support of change initiatives to achieve desired outcomes. In addition, you will establish and execute test cases to identify defects and assess the quality of system solution deliveries. On top of this, you will coordinate and communicate with team members and stakeholders to support Wellmark’s strategies.

This position will work a hybrid schedule of at least 3 days in Wellmark's Des Moines, Iowa office (Tuesday-Thursday), with 2 days remote option (Monday/Friday).
Qualifications
Required Qualifications - Must have:
- Bachelor's degree or direct and applicable work experience.
- 4+ years of experience in one or more of the following: Technology or business role experience with complex business systems, applications, and/or platforms; experience combining technical expertise with strong knowledge of health services business processes.
- Proven experience with large change initiatives and/or system release implementations, utilizing industry standard project management methodologies (Agile and/or waterfall).
- Minimum of 1 year experience with UAT coordination, also encompassing user acceptance testing, writing test cases, and managing defect resolution.
- Proven experience coordinating or executing user acceptance test plans, scenarios and cases utilizing industry standard testing methodologies.
- Workflow management or process development of complex business applications or systems; experience eliciting, translating, and documenting business requirements and testing system configurations and integrations.
- Demonstrated strong communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders (internal and externally).
- Demonstrated consulting skills and ability to understand needs/requirements, make business process/workflow recommendations, and influence stakeholder decisions.
- Proficient decision-making skills, prioritization and time management skills demonstrated through the ability to build rapport, establish relationships, identify, and leverage opportunities to responsibly influence decisions effectively, etc.
- Proficient analytical, research, and critical thinking skills. Proactively identifies improvement opportunities and applies experience to problem solving issues and develop resolution approaches.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex/technical information to varying audiences including Team Leaders and Directors.
- Proactive self-starter with effective time management skills and the ability to independently organize competing priorities and tasks. Strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite. Technical aptitude to learn new programs quickly.
- Group facilitation skills, negotiation skills, and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications - Great to have:
- Experience with Health Services business process and systems (including JIVA).
Additional Information
What you will do as a Sr Business Support Consultant for Health Services:
a. Own and manage business testing and readiness strategy and execution for the core care management system initiatives, enhancements, and releases.
b. Lead and coordinate testing efforts, including test scenario design, development, execution, and defect management activities for the Health Services Advisory group. Use a variety of techniques to ensure applications are being validated according to the testing plan. Write and execute test cases, documenting traceability and findings, ensuring accurate and timely outcomes. Help troubleshoot issues uncovered through business testing.
c. Represent Health Services as subject matter expert (SME) and consultant for workflow/process functions as a part of the product delivery teams or other initiatives regarding Health Service processes, systems, applications, data, and integrations. Collaborate closely with internal and external (system vendors) resources to communicate requirements, review solutions, validate test results, and escalate issues.
d. Serve as the SME and resource for internal departments concerning Health Services systems, applications, data and workflow processes related to utilization management and case management.
e. Analyze existing documentation of work processes, system configuration changes, and other artifacts for opportunities for improvement/gaps. Own development, maintenance and utilization of a Health Services User Acceptance Test Library, a comprehensive set of UAT test cases and scenarios that ensure maximum test coverage for regression of critical business functions and tasks. Champion creation and maintenance of new and existing test automation to support execution of this UAT library through collaboration with Technology testing teams and leadership.
f. Engage and contribute to assigned agile/product teams by supporting the refinement of features, development, and documentation of user stories (INVEST format) in ADO, develop potential acceptance criteria, identifying value for features and stories, communicating with other product team members and stakeholders, and identification of dependencies or needed enabler stories.
g. Contribute to the evaluation and definition of department KPIs and reporting requirements/standards to measure performance against targets. Review metrics and results and develop recommendations for areas of focus and/or improvement.
h. Comply with regulatory standards, accreditation standards and internal guidelines; remain current and consistent with the standards pertinent to Health Services.
i. Other duties as assigned.
