About the Role
The Purchasing Assistant supports the Pocahontas Plant Buyer and the procurement process by helping manage inventory, placing orders, and maintaining supplier relationships to ensure timely and cost-effective purchasing.
What You’ll Do
- Order Management: Assist in placing purchase orders and tracking shipments to ensure timely delivery of products and materials.
- Supplier Relations: Maintain good relationships with suppliers, vendors, and wholesalers, and conduct market research to identify potential vendors and negotiate prices.
- Inventory Monitoring: Monitor stock levels and helping manage inventory to ensure that supplies are available when needed while avoiding overstocking.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of purchases, including invoices, contracts, and order details, and update internal databases accordingly.
- Cost Analysis: Assist in evaluating vendor offers and perform cost analyses to make informed purchasing decisions that align with the company’s budget and needs.
Additional Expectations
- Remain compliant with the Code of Conduct and Policies which includes the Kingspan Group Compliance Policy.
- Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations, and market demands.
- Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of the Compliance Management System.
- Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, or any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.
What You’ll Bring
- Education: An associate’s degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field preferred but not required.
- Experience: 2+ years previous experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management is preferred.
- Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent negotiation abilities are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is often required.
- Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills to effectively liaise with suppliers and internal teams.
