What you’d be doing:
- Strategic Claims Department Project & Program Management
- Own, define, and coordinate the comprehensive project roadmap for strategic, cross-functional claims initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Lead the identification, scoping, planning, and execution of claims projects (both strategic and tactical) throughout their lifecycle, from inception to successful delivery.
- Directly manage high-impact claims projects in support of executive-level objectives, ensuring timely completion, within budget, and to required specifications.
- Implement and manage effective project intake processes and capacity planning for all claims-related work, optimizing resource allocation and prioritization.
- Define project success metrics and monitor performance, providing regular updates to stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Drive project alignment and collaboration across diverse claims teams (e.g., claims optimization, quality, operations) to foster strong partnerships and integrated solutions.
- Develop and execute comprehensive communication plans for strategic claims programs, ensuring timely and transparent updates on delivery timelines, risks, and progress across the organization.
- Serve as the primary liaison between project teams and key stakeholders, including executive leadership, to manage expectations, resolve impediments, and ensure project success.
- Leverage deep insights into claims operations, quality, and people processes to identify project opportunities and deliver the highest level of business value.
- Facilitate conflict resolution and decision-making among project stakeholders to keep initiatives on track.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of claim experience
- 3+ years of project management experience
- Project Management Certification (PMP, CAPM)
- 3+ years’ experience fostering and working with key vendor partnerships and/or cross-functional initiatives
- Proven ability to provide requirements to analytic partners and generate data-driven insights
- Proven ability to effectively communicate complex technical and business items across technical and business-oriented stakeholders clearly and succinctly, both written and verbally
- Proven ability to lead department-wide efforts with limited oversight
- Excellent ability to coordinate people, with high energy and a sense of urgency
Highly preferred candidates also have:
- Insurance-related certifications
- Master’s degree
- Experience executing within a lean/agile process framework
- Experience with project organization and analytics tools such as Confluence, Jira, or similar
