The opportunity:

Reporting to the Senior Portfolio Managers, the Investment Associate plays an integral role in managing client relationships and delivering superior investment management and family services to the team’s high and ultra-high-net-worth clients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Proactively leading, managing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Working closely with the Senior Wealth Advisors/Senior Portfolio Managers to deliver exceptional wealth management services.
  • Preparing and coordinating client meetings, agendas, meeting materials, and follow-up with clients.
  • Attending client meetings, as requested.
  • Working closely with the Senior Tax and Estate Planner to deliver family office services, including foundation, corporation and family trust administration and compliance as well as tax reporting.
  • Proactively contributing to the development of best practices and taking steps to improve operational policies, processes and practices.
  • Collaborating with internal teams, including planners, associates and traders, to deliver comprehensive wealth management solutions and bespoke services to clients.
  • Staying up to date on firm and industry administrative and compliance policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining up-to-date client records and utilizing CRM tools to efficiently manage tasks and maintain client documentation.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies and maintaining exemplary client files.
  • Performing other duties and projects, as assigned.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in wealth management in a client support role.
  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, economics or a related field of study.
  • RR licensed and current registration in good standing.
  • WME designation.
  • Professional designation of CFP, PFP is an asset.
  • Life and A&S Insurance licensed is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel) and working knowledge of financial planning software applications (Conquest) and CRM applications (Maximizer).
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, investment products, advanced wealth management strategies.
  • Working knowledge and experience with personal, family trust and corporate financial planning.
  • In-depth knowledge of investment industry rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • An ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and a high level of professionalism.
  • Strong organization skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
