Manager Security Operations

As our Manager of Security Operations, you’ll lead a dedicated team that safeguards our patients, visitors, and staff, ensuring a secure and welcoming environment across our medical center.   In this highly visible leadership role, you’ll be the go-to resource for daily security operations, staff training, policy development, and compliance initiatives. You’ll collaborate with law enforcement agencies, coordinate safety drills, and directly influence how we protect our community every day. 

What You’ll Do  

• Lead and Inspire: Oversee daily operations of the Security Department, providing guidance, motivation, and training to security officers, leads, and coordinators.

• Train and Develop: Create and deliver engaging orientation and in-service programs, ensuring your team meets all mandatory training requirements.

• Stay Ahead of Risks: Analyze incident data, prepare detailed security reports, and recommend proactive safety improvements.

• Build Partnerships: Collaborate with local correctional facilities, detention centers, and security teams at key partner sites like Camp David.

• Maintain Compliance: Keep Joint Commission documentation and departmental policies up to date, ensuring the highest safety and regulatory standards.

• Step Up as a Leader: Serve as acting Director of Security Operations when needed.

What You Bring  

• Education: Associate’s degree in criminal justice or related field 

• Experience: At least 3 years of management experience in a security related field.

• Certifications: Maryland State Police Security Guard Card (or ability to obtain within 90 days), BLS/CPR certification, and de-escalation training (within 90 days). These certifications must be maintained throughout employment.

• Skills: Strong leadership, deep understanding of security practices, and the ability to respond quickly and effectively to security breaches or safety hazards.

• Bonus: A clean driving record and valid driver’s license for Meritus vehicle use.
