ACCEL Schools is seeking a Family Engagement Coordinator. This position supports overall student success by partnering with staff members and families to increase family involvement in the school’s programs and to help families feel more connected and involved in the school community.
Please note – while this is an online school position and all instruction occurs virtually, travel and face to face attendance will be required several times per year to support in person state testing and student events.
- Collaborate with school staff to develop strategies that engage families in student learning
- Organize, support and lead parent education programs and workshops to enhance student learning
- Organize parent groups to increase family engagement school wide
- Organize statewide community events
- Communicate school wide initiatives and updates via newsletters, Facebook, press releases and other channels to ensure that all families are aware of events and initiatives
- Organize and lead in-person field trips
- Organize in-state, domestic, and international travel opportunities with travel partner
- Maintain accurate records and data related to parent engagement activities
- Travel to support required face to face state testing annually
- Performs all other job duties as assigned
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, School Counselor, or related social service field
- Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiency
- Ability to travel 20% of the time
- Background working in education
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and exhibit sound judgment while maintaining that confidentiality
- Demonstrates a reliable, dependable, and trustworthy work ethic
- Ability to manage difficult or emotional situations
- Ability to make sound judgments after all available information has been gathered or communicated
- Demonstrates a mature attitude and insight into matters affecting department, self and / or school welfare
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure, effectively prioritizing and executing tasks to meet deadlines consistently
- Customer service oriented
- Ability to learn new technologies and acquire new skills through independent study, professional training, and from more senior team members.
- Ability to work independently and contribute to a team
- Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks
