The Law Library Business Associate represents an integral role in the Library's administrative and business operations. This position reports to the Assistant Dean and Director for the Library and Information Technology Services and coordinates with both internal and external stakeholders.
Job Responsbilities:
Library Accounting/Budgeting Operations:
Prepares all invoices for payment. Works closely with acquisitions staff, business office, accounting services, and vendors on problem invoices and vendor inquiries to ensure prompt payment of invoices. Preparation and submission of interlibrary loan, print center and court record deposits. Creates and maintains all library account spreadsheets for ledger reconciliations and balance monitoring on an ongoing basis. Creates travel budget spreadsheets and monitors overall library travel budget. (30%)
Library Procurement Operations:
Ensures that library book orders are properly received. Assists library staff with the procurement of electronic resources, supplies, equipment, and library furnishings. Prepares requisitions/purchase orders associated with electronic resources, supplies, equipment, and library furnishings. Receives materials, supplies, equipment, and library furnishings, and controls the submission of satisfactory invoices. Tracks supply budget, maintains inventory, and manages storage for the library and its print center. (30%)
Responsible for the day-to-day operations and support of the unit. Manage the status of patron accounts. Work cross-functionally with other library units to ensure efficient and effective operations for all patrons. (20%)
Develop and recommend changes in library policy, procedures, and practices. Conduct specialized library-related research and prepares complex management reports. Investigates new processes for improved efficiencies. Assists leadership with special projects. (15%)
Other duties may be required for the efficient and effective operation of the LSU Law Center Library.

Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant work experience; ability to work effectively as part of a team; oral and written communication skills; attention to detail; basic computer skills; physical ability to bend, stoop, reach, and lift 30 pounds.
Desired qualifications: Working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word; experience working in a library.
