Manager Supplier Risk Management

Join our team as the first Manager of Supplier Risk Management!

The Procurement team at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee is seeking a visionary Manager to lead the creation of our Supplier Risk Management function. This is a rare opportunity in a remote first environment to shape strategy, design frameworks, and drive resilience across our broad supply base. The ideal candidate will have at least five years’ experience in supplier management, risk assessment and vendor relationships and three years of experience in management or leadership.

Job Responsibilities 

• Develop and implement supplier risk management strategies and policies.
• Conduct thorough risk assessments of new and existing suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance and compliance with contractual obligations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate supplier risks.
• Maintain and update supplier risk management documentation.
• Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on supplier risk status.

Job Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required. Equivalent experience is defined as 4 years of professional work experience in a corporate environment.

Experience

• 5 years - Minimum of 5 years of experience in supplier risk management or supply chain management
• 3 years - Management and/or leadership experience required

Skills/Certifications 

• Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve tactical and
• strategic goals.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or function in a team environment sharing responsibility, roles and accountability.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint)
• Must be a team player, be organized and have the ability to handle multiple projects
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
