Assistant Underwriter - Pharmacy

Our Commercial Operations Division is excited to welcome an Assistant Underwriter-Pharmacy to join the Pharmacy Underwriting team!  This position requires a bachelor’s degree in a math-related field.  The ideal candidate is very detail-oriented, excels at math, and able to comprehend complex information. We are searching for someone who is eager to learn and able to summarize detailed analytics and oversee collaboration between areas. Job Responsibilities

• Collecting information, contacting sales, account managers, agents, and other parties as appropriate to clarify and correct inconsistent, incorrect or missing group health application information.
• Researching, investigating risk for group health insurance prospects and renewals and associated underwriting documentation, involving group health insurance.
• Evaluating, classifying risks and setting terms/rates for approval, modification or reasons for rejection.
• Resolving customer problems involving group health insurance.
• Providing on-going support to experienced underwriters regarding all group health insurance processes and products to both assist underwriting task completion and improve individual process and product proficiency.
• Must pass a math test.

Job Qualifications

Education

• Bachelors Degree in Mathematics, Finance, Accounting or related field or equivalent work experience.

Skills\Certifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Effective analytical, planning, interpersonal, organizational and research skills
