Summary:

Reporting to the Director, HR Operations, the HRIS Manager manages information services for the Office of Human Resources including management information reports and workforce metrics (e.g., Informer), Workday configuration, troubleshooting and user acceptance testing, and generating reports and pulling data from both Workday and Colleague.  This position also provides advice and support for new HR initiatives that may require additional information and computer related resources and provides support for compliance-related requests.  This position requires self-direction and minimal degree of supervision. This position manages a full-time HR Systems Data Analyst and a part-time HR Analyst.

Essential Functions:

  • Function as the HR expert for Workday and Colleague.

  • Recommend Workday business process modifications as needed.

  • Manage User Acceptance Testing for all systems-related changes/upgrades.

  • Provide technical advice and guidance to HR/Payroll on using AU systems to achieve information needs.

  • Manage updates relating to changes in information in the system as needed.

  • Manage HR’s ability to access information, evaluate data needs and ensure that data provided is accurate and reliable.

  • Develop and maintain reports that HR/Payroll units can access for use in performing their duties.

  • Access systems such as Informer and the data warehouse to access this information.

  • Manage and support new HR initiatives that require the use of technology and information to implement.

  • Provide advice, perform research on new technology and consult with IT and others to determine best approach.

  • Provide support for ongoing HR initiatives, particularly related to HR compliance such as ACA tracking, production of 1095-C forms, and compilation of data needed for reporting.

  • Respond to data requests from units and support ad hoc data requests.

  • Hire, onboard, train and manage staff assigned to the HRIS team. This includes establishing goals, providing coaching and feedback, evaluating performance and seeking opportunities for professional development.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • This position supervises a full-time and a part-time staff member.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • Full-Time.

  • 35 hours per week.

  • 3-4 days in office.

Salary Range:

  • $107,500 - $115,000 annually.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

  • A Bachelor's degree in information technology, or related field or equivalent in education, training and experience.

  • 4-6 years of relevant experience.

  • Strong organizational/management, communication, collaboration skills and results orientation required. 

  • Strong computer skills are required.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Master's degree or equivalent.

  • 5-8 years of relevant experience.

  • Experience working with Colleague ERP system.

  • Experience with Workday preferred.

  • Experience working in higher education preferred.
