Research Assistant

The Research Assistant, School of Applied Computational Sciences, will work with Dr. Aize Cao and her team. The successful candidate will be involved in key aspects of data collection and analysis to support ongoing research projects aimed at improving maternal health and substance use disorders.

• Assist in the data collection through clinical chart reviews, surveys, MRI imaging, and other approaches. Assist in patient or normal subject transportation if needed. 20%
• Input, organize, and manage data using various software tools and databases. 30%
• Conduct preliminary data analysis and prepare data sets for further analysis. 30%
• Participate in the development and implementation of data collection protocols to ensure accuracy and consistency. 5%
• Provide administrative support for research projects, including scheduling, coordinating meetings, and maintaining project documentation. 5%
• Assist in writing reports, preparing presentations, and creating visual data representations for internal and external stakeholders 5%
• Performs other related duties as assigned. 5 %

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Proven experience in data collection and analysis, preferably in a healthcare or research setting.
• Strong understanding of data privacy standards and practices, particularly HIPAA.
• Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., Python, R, SQL) and database management.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus
• Must be in town and have personal transportation.  

Education and Experience:

A Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
