Job Summary 
North American Institutional Sales within the Barings Global Client Group now is seeking a Senior Associate to support the sales, relationship management and consultant relations activities of Barings’ institutional clients. 

 This position will partner with senior Institutional Sales leaders to promote Barings’ investment capabilities and drive new business opportunities. Leveraging Barings’ broad investment platform across public and private markets, this role demands a collaborative mindset and a strong intellectual curiosity to navigate and analyze the competitive landscape of large institutional investors.

This role is responsible for delivering support to sales and consultant relations teams with a mindset on increasing visibility in the marketplace that will ultimately lead to more opportunities to grow our business. The location of this position will be in our global headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Partner and collaborate with Institutional Sales Directors, in conjunction with Consultant Relations, to research prospects, support sales initiatives, and grow the most strategic relationships in the region.

  • Maintain a deep understanding of the institutional landscape and client base by optimizing Salesforce usage, mapping key stakeholders, coordinating consultant relations, and conducting thematic asset allocation research.

  • Coordinate closely with internal stakeholders—including investment teams, client portfolio management, marketing, legal and more—to streamline investment solutions and sales process.

  • Contribute to product development and marketing engagement by providing client-driven feedback.

  • Organize meeting preparation and presentation materials to ensure effective client engagement and internal alignment.

Qualifications  

  • 3-5+years of investment related sales experience, ideally within institutional level asset management

  • Series 7 & Series 63 certification required. 

  • Strong/developing understanding of public and/or private markets, with clear awareness of how various institutional investors operate and make allocation decisions.

  • Client relationship management experience (ideally within Salesforce)

  • Excellent time-management, multi-tasking, and organization skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment or on individual projects.

  • A positive, collegial attitude and a high level of professionalism
