Supplier & Sourcing Manager - Consumables

Role Purpose
Responsible for end-to-end management of consumables procurement at FLSmidth, combining strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and contract oversight to ensure competitive cost, consistent quality, reliable supply, and alignment with operational and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for consumable categories (e.g., wear parts, grinding media, filtration elements, fasteners) to support business objectives.

• Build, maintain, and enhance long-term relationships with key suppliers, fostering collaboration and innovation.

• Negotiate commercial terms, supply agreements, and service level commitments to deliver best value to FLSmidth.

• Conduct RFQ/tender processes, evaluate bids, and lead contract award recommendations.

• Monitor and analyse supplier performance against KPIs (DIFOT, quality metrics, lead time, cost) and implement continuous improvement plans.

• Identify, qualify, and onboard new suppliers to diversify supply base and reduce risk.

• Collaborate closely with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to ensure supplier capabilities meet specification, compliance, and delivery needs.

• Track market trends, pricing, and cost drivers to inform commercial strategies.

• Ensure all sourcing and supplier activities meet FLSmidth’s ESG, compliance, safety, and ethical procurement standards.

• Drive cost reduction, standardisation, and efficiency initiatives across the consumables category.

Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial negotiation, category management, and supplier relationship skills.

• Experience in consumables procurement within heavy industry, mining, or manufacturing.

• Proven ability to analyse supplier data and market intelligence to make informed decisions.

• Strong stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration capabilities.
