JOB TITLE: Commercial Finance Manager (14 month FTC)

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
This position is part of the Jimmy Choo Group Commercial Finance Team which is responsible for the forecasting and budgeting cycles, as well as management reporting, and oversight of global corporate cost centres and global capital expenditure.
The role exists to business partner the IT and Transformation Departments, and oversee global capital expenditure. The role encompasses both ad hoc work and regular reporting, analysis and planning.
The primary stakeholders of this role are the Vice President of IT, and team, the Project Managers, Regional Finance Teams, Store Development and the Financial Planning & Analysis teams at both Jimmy Choo and the Parent company.
The successful candidate will be a self starter who demonstrates both commercial awareness and maintains financial control.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Business Partnering
- Act as a finance business partner to the IT and Transformation Departments, and the Project Managers – supporting them in financial planning and decision making
- Liaise with other finance teams e.g. Supply Chain finance and Omni Channel finance where necessary to obtain a complete view of the Group-wide projects
- On a monthly basis, for management accounts, provide input into the accounting team for accruals and prepayments, and prepare and distribute insightful monthly commentary on results
- Prepare the bi-annual budget and quarterly reforecasts in the P&L cube of Hyperion Financial Planning (HYP) for the Global IT and Transformation costs
- Provide forecasts and detail to the parent company, particularly around multi brand projects, when requested
Capital Expenditure
- Monitoring of Group wide capital expenditure, from approval, to reporting to forecasting
- Perform pre-investment analysis on all retail capex proposals, working closely with the regional finance teams and aiding the CFO on decision making
- Ensuring excellent communication with Store Development, understanding retail capex projects/timelines and challenging the regional teams on their budgets
- Application of Group accounting policy regarding treatment Capital Expenditure and Cloud Computing
- Consolidate and review the bi-annual budget and regular forecasts
- Perform a monthly risks and opportunities exercise to identify any deviances from the current Capex Budget and ensuring overspends are flagged early and where possible, mitigated
Stores and Ad Hoc
- Preparing the quarterly Group retail impairment test at store level in-line with parent-company policy
- Driving forward upcoming projects, e.g. transitioning CAPEX requests to Sharepoint (currently Excel), potential future project to transition CAPEX into Hyperion System.
- Utilise knowledge gained through capex work to support with updates on retail space data
- Monthly analysis of transformation costs, to monitor spend levels and to ensure compliance with parent company policy
- Assist with preparation of ad hoc financial information for board papers as required
- Support wider team with other ad hoc analysis/reports, e.g. retail quarterly/discount margin
- Ad hoc financial projects as directed by the Group Director of Commercial Finance, Senior Director of Commercial Finance and Senior Vice President, CFO and COO
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- The successful candidate will be a qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) and commercial aware accountant, with excellent academics
- Relevant experience overseeing capital expenditure and business partnering with IT/transformation departments is preferable
- Previous experience in retail/FMGC desirable
- Advanced excel skills
- Financial systems experience including SAP and Hyperion Financial Planning desirable
