Job Description:
Summary/Objective
The Facilities Engineer will serve as a key technical resource supporting the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of critical manufacturing infrastructure. This role requires hands-on expertise in industrial systems. The ideal candidate will bring an engineering background and practical experience in manufacturing environments, driving facility reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Essential Job Functions
• Provide engineering oversight for facility operations, including process ventilation systems, heat treat equipment, bluing operations, wastewater systems, and infrastructure utilities.
• Lead and support projects involving process optimization, equipment upgrades, facility expansions, and environmental systems improvements.
• Ensure facility systems and operations comply with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and all relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
• Conduct regular inspections of critical infrastructure, identify and document deficiencies, and coordinate corrective action plans.
• Apply Lean principles such as root cause analysis, value stream mapping, Kaizen to facilities operations and project execution.
• Provide engineering design, troubleshooting, and implementation support across a broad range of systems, including HVAC, compressed air, electrical distribution, and water/wastewater treatment systems.
• Assist in the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and preventive maintenance plans for equipment and systems.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors for procurement, project planning, and contractor oversight.
• Support installation and commissioning of new production equipment.
Required Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, chemical, or related discipline).
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Working knowledge of industrial systems including, but not limited to, wastewater treatment, HVAC, process ventilation, electrical distribution, and mechanical utilities.
• Familiarity with bluing and heat treating operations is preferred.
• Proficient in interpreting electrical, mechanical, and piping schematics and drawings.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Understanding of regulatory codes and standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and project management tools.
