We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-driven Cost Accountant to join our onsite team in Mebane, NC. This role combines core cost accounting responsibilities with a leadership position in driving the Cost Deployment (CD) Pillar within our World Class Manufacturing (WCM) framework. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in cost accounting and financial analysis, along with a passion for operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Cost Accounting Duties:

  • Maintain accurate records of manufacturing costs, including materials, labor, and overhead.

  • Analyze variances between actual and standard costs; investigate and explain root causes.

  • Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by providing cost data and analysis.

  • Collaborate with operations and supply chain to drive cost efficiency and improve accuracy of cost models.

  • Monitor inventory transactions and perform monthly inventory reconciliation.

  • Prepare and present cost reports to management, providing insights and recommendations.

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor, analyze, and reconcile inventory movements and balances across all locations.

  • Drive inventory accuracy through cycle counts, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.

  • Collaborate with supply chain, production, and warehouse teams to improve inventory processes.

  • Ensure proper accounting and control of inventory, including obsolescence and slow-moving stock analysis.

  • Support physical inventory counts and lead internal/external audit preparations re. inventory.

WCM Cost Deployment (CD) Pillar Leadership:

  • Lead the WCM Cost Deployment pillar across the site.

  • Translate losses identified in other pillars (PM, AM, FI, etc.) into financial terms to prioritize improvement actions.

  • Build and maintain the Cost Deployment master map and loss tree for the site.

  • Train and coach pillar members and operational teams on CD methodologies and tools.

  • Facilitate CD reviews, audits, and milestone evaluations.

  • Serve as a key liaison between Finance and Operations in the WCM process.

  • Ensure alignment of cost reduction initiatives with overall plant strategy and WCM goals.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required.

  • 3+ years of experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing finance role.

  • Proficiency in SAP preferred; strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills required.

  • Experience with World Class Manufacturing (WCM) or similar continuous improvement programs is a plus.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on plant environment and wearing appropriate PPE.

Posting Dates

August 15, 2025 - August 30, 2025.

The expected compensation range for this role is $67,500.00 -$80,000.00.

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience, and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
