What we need:
We are looking for a Shipping Clerk I who will be responsible for the preparation and packaging of parts for safe transit via common carrier.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintain files of all job-identification procedures.
• Receive stock and maintain inventory.
• Stamp parts as instructed, based on job travelers and customer requirements.
• Check parts for obvious dimensional errors and surface defects.
• Report discrepancies to a leadperson.
• Package materials and prepare jobs for shipment accordingly.
• Verify that quantity of parts is correct and satisfies job order.
• Assist in loading and unloading truck shipments.
• Assure all quality and production requirements are met.
• Participate in total quality management projects to achieve continuous improvement.
• Participate in LEAN manufacturing and SPC activities as require
• Ensure adherence to APP’s policies and procedures, including our code of conduct and ethics policy, product safety, employee safety and cultural beliefs.
• Ensure adherence to all process specifications.
• Support the Plant quality system goals / improvements & productivity goals / improvements within the scope of the job.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience
• Some manufacturing or shipping experience is preferred, but not required.
• Certified forklift operator preferred, but not required.
• On-the-job training is provided for this job.
• In compliance with ITAR regulations, must be a US Citizen or US Person (U.S. Person = a natural person who is a lawful permanent resident as defined in 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20) or who is a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
• Communicate with co-workers and supervisor.
• Follow verbal instructions.
• Maintain focus on assigned tasks throughout the scheduled shift.
• Keep accurate part counts.
• Maintain an acceptable attendance record.
• Follow and respect supervisor’s direction.
• Ensure quality parts to meet customer’s and APP’s requirements.
• Work at an acceptable level of productivity.
• Maintain a non-combative, positive work attitude.
• Uphold safe and honest work habits and practices.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• In an effort to achieve continuous improvement, APP expects a willingness from employees to be cross-trained on multiple operations.
Compensation: $18.00 - $18.76 an hour. This is the lowest to highest hourly rate we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
