Early Childhood Education Support/Advising

Part-time, grant funded position expected through June 30, 2026. Work with the ECE department with the Program Manager of the Education Department.

Responsibilities: The ECE Support/Advising Specialist will work in a variety of contexts to support and advance the role of NCC as an Education Specialist. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Maintains initial intake interest survey and survey data.

  • Ensures students are enrolled in appropriate programs.

  • Coordinates with PDOs to ensure students meet state requirements.

  • Provides analyzed survey data for PDO quarterly reports.

  • Facilitates student access to available state funding.

  • Facilitates and maintains Pre-Enrollment Seminar and supports students as they are learning to navigate Brightspace D2L.

  • Supports students and their instructors once enrolled to ensure student success.

  • Encourages students to continue on the ECE career lattice.

  • Assists with the development of grant/contract applications.

  • Fields student requests for supports.

  • Maintains student support priority list.

  • Coordinates with Advising to ensure funded AA students are assigned an Advisor.

  • Engage in recruitment activities including weekly Zoom introductory sessions.

  • Use the Workday platform to provide access for student registration and generate reports

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Master's Degree in Education with experience in the ECE field at the birth to age five level.

  • Knowledge of the ECE workforce, the CDA credential, state systems, and PA professional pathways required.

  • Strong written and verbal communication.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the following areas: collaborative work processes, problem solving; attention to details; initiative and drive to effectively support and guide both traditional and non-traditional students.
