As a Staff Hardware Development Engineer at Nokia in Ottawa, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of telecom technology. - Lead the design, testing, validation, and manufacturing introduction of digital and mixed-signal printed circuit board assemblies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and verify proof of concepts and evaluation boards for emerging telecom technologies.
- Drive board development, including circuit design, schematic capture, and guiding PCB layout and placement efforts.
- Produce and maintain documentation, including functional specifications, PCBA build documents, and rigorous test plans.
- Work closely with FPGA, ASIC, system, optical, and mechanical designers to ensure seamless integration of hardware components.
- Define and execute comprehensive integration and verification processes to ensure compliance with product requirements.
- Develop innovative test methods and automation to enhance testing efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide critical manufacturing support and define production test strategies to optimize board performance.
IYou have:
- MS/BSEE with 5+ years of experience in board-level hardware design
- Proficiency in circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout
- Strong debugging and lab skills for test development and execution
- Experience with microprocessor & digital circuit design, including SERDES
- Hands-on experience with analog circuitry design and measurement
- Familiarity with power converter design, including buck, boost, and linear regulators
- Knowledge of PCB fabrication and assembly design rules
It would be nice if you also had:
- Experience with Cadence Concept or similar EDA tools
- Understanding of high-speed I/O and clock termination techniques
- Prior experience in defining production tests and manufacturing support
- Familiarity with ADC/DAC selection and debugging
- Solid communication skills and ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams
