Role Summary

This position supports patient flow from entry to destination in a timely, accurate, and professional manner. Responsibilities include:

  • Gathering financial and demographic information to ensure accurate records and optimal reimbursement

  • Scheduling appointments and interviewing patients for medical information

  • Explaining departmental/hospital charges and policies

  • Validating and entering charges into appropriate systems

  • Collecting necessary payments

  • Answering incoming calls and directing patients and visitors appropriately

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required

  • Experience: Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred

  • Skills:

    • Ability to learn and retain medical coding (ICD-10, CPT preferred)

    • Understanding of insurance information and clinical practices

    • Familiarity with medical terminology preferred

    • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
