Role Summary
This position supports patient flow from entry to destination in a timely, accurate, and professional manner. Responsibilities include:
Gathering financial and demographic information to ensure accurate records and optimal reimbursement
Scheduling appointments and interviewing patients for medical information
Explaining departmental/hospital charges and policies
Validating and entering charges into appropriate systems
Collecting necessary payments
Answering incoming calls and directing patients and visitors appropriately
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED required
Experience: Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred
Skills:
Ability to learn and retain medical coding (ICD-10, CPT preferred)
Understanding of insurance information and clinical practices
Familiarity with medical terminology preferred
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
