Under the direction of the Vice President of Strategy and Business Development, the Manager, Hospital Program Development supports the execution of the organization’s strategic plan, with a focus on service line growth and community education. This role is responsible for advancing program development initiatives aimed at improving access to and delivery of care across key services. The Manager will play a key role in supporting physician recruitment, strengthening relationships with existing physicians and their office staff, and conducting targeted community outreach to key referral sources aligned with identified service lines. Primary areas of focus include surgical services, acute rehabilitation, and other hospital-based programs. The Manager also serves as a liaison to local employers, civic leaders, and community stakeholders, enhancing the hospital’s visibility through internal and external events, and building strategic relationships to promote awareness of hospital services within the communities we serve.

  • Builds and maintains relationships with physicians and community stakeholders through ongoing outreach to medical offices and key constituents. Identifies needs related to physician preferences, patient access, and service excellence. Manages program development projects and initiatives in alignment with strategic and tactical plans. Responsible for timely and regular reporting of activities, feedback, and inquiries, as well as developing and implementing follow-up actions or resolutions as appropriate.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on hospital strengths and areas for improvement within the assigned geographic market. Develops a deep understanding of services and programs that align with and support community needs. Works collaboratively and proactively with the Vice President of Strategy and Business Development to gather and analyze hospital, community, competitor, and regional data in order to anticipate trends, identify opportunities, and respond to emerging dynamics in the market. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested, including occasional weekend functions.
  • Plans and executes internal and external networking and community events to support the growth of targeted programs and increase awareness of hospital services. Collaborates with the Vice President of Strategy and Business Development to implement new practices, processes, and services aligned with strategic goals and community needs. Assists with physician retention and orientation efforts. Represents the hospital and health system at community events, as assigned.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3 years of experience in a healthcare setting, with prior leadership experience
  • Project management experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to communicate to physicians and leadership in a concise and effective manner
  • Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office, including Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills/abilities
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Valid California Driver’s License and reliable/insured vehicle

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master’s Degree in Public Health, Health Services Administration, or related field
  • Experience in a hospital facility

Pay Rate: Min - $113,400 | Max - $155,000

Now at 420 beds, SCH-CC is a general acute care hospital that utilizes many of the latest medical treatments and technologies. The hospital offers a wide range of inpatient and outpatient acute care services, including an orthopedic center, cardiovascular services, acute rehabilitation, sub-acute care, psychiatric care and chemical dependency programs. Additionally, SCH-CC operates a 24-hour emergency services center, which serves as a paramedic receiving station and is staffed by board-certified emergency physicians and nurse specialists.
