Recovery Mentor
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Recovery Mentor position is responsible for assisting clients with their recovery needs by maintaining a constant presence, problem solving, and providing emotional & strategic support.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· High School Diploma/GED
· APSS certified or eligible to obtain certification upon hire
· Minimum one year of sobriety
· Excellent Communication skills (oral and written)
· Have received or be receiving treatment
· Demonstrate a pattern of recovery from mental health, substance use, or co-occurring disorders
· Proficiency in Microsoft Suite of products
· Valid driver’s license

JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:
- The Recovery Mentor will act and speak with integrity.
- Will serve as a role model for the clients.
- Will be available for One on Ones when requested.
- Will assist in the facilitation of structured activity groups.
- Will use relevant personal stories to assist clients through experience.
- Encourage client voice and choice during development and implementation of plans.
- Assist in client retention and crisis intervention efforts.
- Support a client by: (a) Attending team meetings on behalf of the client at the request of the client: or (b) Accompany the client to meetings if applicable, (c) empower a client to have the confidence to advocate for self.
- The Recovery Mentor will actively look for ways to improve the overall client experience.
- The Recovery Mentor will perform any other duties assigned by Programs/Operations Supervisor.
- Fulfill standard client support job functions.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs):
- Attends weekly meetings (Client Retention, House meetings, Treatment Team meetings, and Discipleship Board Meetings) on scheduled dates and times.
- Be present with the client population, problem solving, effective listening, emotional support.
- Partners with other departments to assist in client retention efforts.
- Document noteworthy client interactions in KIPU including structured activity groups.
Requirements
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:
Adheres to Isaiah House policies and procedures
Attends mandatory in-services and other training/educational programs as required
APSS Certification
Maintain APSS certification
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee frequently is required to stand; bend; stoop; walk; reach with hands and arms.
