Position Summary: 

The Machine Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment and machinery in a fast-paced machine shop environment. This role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, as well as performing preventive maintenance to minimize downtime. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, hands-on, and thrives in a collaborative team setting. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on manufacturing machinery and equipment to ensure operational efficiency. 
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. 
  • Repair or replace defective components and ensure proper functionality of machinery. 
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks in accordance with established schedules and procedures. 
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, documentation, and reports. 
  • Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and ensure machinery meets operational needs. 
  • Identify and recommend improvements to equipment performance and reliability. 
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. 
  • Ensure compliance with company and industry standards, including OSHA regulations. 


Requirements


 

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, engineering, or a related field preferred. 
  • Experience: 
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in machinery maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing setting. 
  • Technical Expertise: Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. 
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify issues and develop effective solutions. 
  • Communication: Clear and concise communication skills to work effectively with team members and document processes. 
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous in performing maintenance tasks and maintaining records. 
  • Physical Capability: Ability to lift 40+ pounds routinely and work in physically demanding conditions. 
  • Teamwork: Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. 
  • Tools and Equipment: Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment used in maintenance work. 

Work Conditions 

  • The role is based in a machine shop manufacturing environment, requiring frequent work on the production floor. 
  • Exposure to noise, dust, and machinery typical of an industrial setting. 
  • Must be comfortable working in tight or awkward spaces, as well as standing or kneeling for extended periods. 
  • Routinely lift and move equipment or materials weighing 40+ pounds. 
  • May require occasional overtime or weekend work to address urgent maintenance needs.
