Description
Position Summary:
The Machine Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment and machinery in a fast-paced machine shop environment. This role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, as well as performing preventive maintenance to minimize downtime. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, hands-on, and thrives in a collaborative team setting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on manufacturing machinery and equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Repair or replace defective components and ensure proper functionality of machinery.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks in accordance with established schedules and procedures.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, documentation, and reports.
- Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and ensure machinery meets operational needs.
- Identify and recommend improvements to equipment performance and reliability.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with company and industry standards, including OSHA regulations.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in machinery maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
- Technical Expertise: Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
- Communication: Clear and concise communication skills to work effectively with team members and document processes.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous in performing maintenance tasks and maintaining records.
- Physical Capability: Ability to lift 40+ pounds routinely and work in physically demanding conditions.
- Teamwork: Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Tools and Equipment: Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment used in maintenance work.
Work Conditions
- The role is based in a machine shop manufacturing environment, requiring frequent work on the production floor.
- Exposure to noise, dust, and machinery typical of an industrial setting.
- Must be comfortable working in tight or awkward spaces, as well as standing or kneeling for extended periods.
- Routinely lift and move equipment or materials weighing 40+ pounds.
- May require occasional overtime or weekend work to address urgent maintenance needs.
